Washington sostiene l’energia rinnovabile
Un ottimo esempio di legislazione a favore dell’ambiente, e in un’ottica di risparmio energetico, arriva dallo stato di Washington, il cui governatore Chris Gregoire ha appena proposto una serie di leggi che puntano a promuovere l’uso di bio-carburanti e a incentivare la creazione di fonti d’energia rinnovabile da parte dei cittadini. Il decreto proposto per i bio-carburanti introduce una percentuale minima (inizialmente in linea con la produzione attuale) di questi, da aumentare col tempo, all’interno del gasolio erogato nello stato. Nello stesso tempo il governo offrirà dei finanziamenti a tasso agevolato per la realizzazione di infrastrutture atte ad accrescere la produzione e la lavorazione delle materie prime necessarie a produrre i bio-carburanti stessi. La proposta di legge continua con una serie di incentivi e aiuti alle famiglie meno abbienti e alle istituzioni pubbliche (scuole comprese) per sostenere le spese di riscaldamento, ma anche per rendere gli edifici più efficienti da un punto di vista termico, e realizzare impianti per la creazione di energie rinnovabili.
